  • Wine Origin
For this wine, we selected grapes from two specific sites that exquisitely show the Russian River Valley Chardonnay traits we love. Both sites benefit from clockwork fog that often lasts until late in the day, as well as the fertile Goldridge soils that make the Russian River Valley famous. These ancient seabed soils grow lush and healthy vines and canopies, which when pruned to achieve a balanced crop load, excel in the cool climate. The grapes used to craft this wine were sourced from two vineyard sites: the Braughton Vineyard located on Vine Hill Road in Sebastopol, and the slightly cooler Jewell Ranch off Sullivan Road near Graton. The fruit at Braughton was harvested on September 13th 2018 with the grapes from Jewell picked on October 12th 2018.
  • Production Notes
In order to maximize quality, all grapes went direct to press as whole clusters. After pressing and settling, the juice was racked into French oak barrels for fermentation. This wine partially completed malolactic fermentation (approximately 75%) and was aged in barrel for 10 months on the lees, with occasional stirring to increase richness and body. It was aged in French oak barrels, 18% of which were new, and 27% one-year-old, prior to bottling on August 6th, 2019.
  • Winemaker Notes
The wine has a pale yellow color and complex aromas of ripe pineapple, green melon and a touch of honeysuckle. On the palate, it offers a soft, supple texture that elegantly supports the vibrant fruit flavors. The finish is round and mouth-filling, with a beam of energetic natural acidity and linger hints of kumquat and tropical fruit.
