From two exceptional vineyards in the Russian River Valley, this wine has a palate that is fresh and pure, with a soft entry and a round mouthfeel that accentuates the lovely flavors of guava, grapefruit, lime zest and orange blossom.

  • Tasting Notes
This wine is the palest yellow color, showing a hint of green and crystal clarity. The nose is full of tropical and citrus aromas, as well as a touch of gooseberry. The palate is fresh and pure, with a soft entry and a round mouthfeel that accentuates the lovely flavors of guava, grapefruit, lime zest and orange blossom.
  • Wine Origin
We worked with two exceptional vineyards to create this stunning Sauvignon Blanc. 47% of the blend is from Mirabelle Vineyard, a phenomenal Russian River Valley site that we have partnered with in the past. The second component comes from the Dutton family’s renowned Jewell Ranch. This vineyard’s Sauvignon Blanc “Musque” Clone grapes add to the remarkable complexity and style to our Clockwise Sauvignon Blanc.
  • Production Notes
The 2018 growing season was one of naturally high yields. We worked closely with our grower partners to thin the fruit and to bring each vineyard into ideal balance. The clusters ripened slowly, and in general, 2018 was a late harvest. Each vineyard was picked on a different day based on its flavors and development. Mirabelle was picked on October 1st, 2018 at 22.8º Brix, with Jewell Ranch harvested on September 24th, 2018 at 24.3º Brix.
  • Winemaker Notes
In order to maximize quality, the harvested grapes went directly to press as whole clusters, and were gently pressed. This provides a distinct mouthfeel texture. To capture the unique styles of each vineyard, a few different approaches to fermentation and aging were used. The juice was fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks using a special yeast to maximize tropical and fruit-forward aromatics. The wine was then kept in tank and aged for three months before bottling occurred on February 11th, 2019.
